Daily Lift – September 24, 2016

And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to the which also ye are called in one body;and be ye thankful (Colossians 3:15).

While in school, students might jabber, shoot trash paper at the waste basket, and walk around the class room visiting each other before class started. When the instructor walked into the class room, there was instantaneous “peace.” All noise, disturbance, and distraction ceased right then and there. From that point onward, the instructor resided over the class. The “peace maker” had entered the room.

Our world is filled with the noise, disturbance, and distraction because of Satan and sin. Jesus Christ desires to come into our hearts (Revelation 3:20). After we allow His Word in, He gives us the power to enter into His body the church (Galatians 3:26-27; 1 Corinthians 12:12-13; Colossians 1:18) where we enter into His peace (Isaiah 9:6). Christ brings a calmness unto the soul which can be found no where else.
