Daily Lift – January 24, 2016

Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path (Psalm 119:105).

In sin, men “grope in the dark without light” (Job 12:25), stumble, and fall. No wonder that darkness brings danger, fear, and death.

The Word of God shines as “a lamp unto my feet,” and makes possible our being “delivered… from the power of darkness,” and “translated… into the kingdom of his dear Son” (Colossians 1:13).

The light that shines upon our path is from God, for, “God is light, and in him is no darkness at all” (1 John 1:5). Walking in that light, we have fellowship with Christ, and with all those in Christ (1 John 1:7-10), and rejoice that: “The darkness is past, and the true light now shineth” (1 John 2:8).
