This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success (Joshua 1:8).

Bookstores are filled with self-help books.

Some claim to hold the “secret” to success and prosperity. But God’s ways are not man’s ways (Isaiah 55:8). God measures success and prosperity by a different standard.

God told Joshua the key to success and prosperity in his work of getting himself and the people of Israel to the promised land was to use the Word of God as his standard. He was to think on it and to talk about it.

This method will work for us as well, if our goal is to make it to the promised land, and take as many as we can with us – then let us get into the Book, read it, love it, and teach it.
