**And Moses said unto the people, Fear ye not, stand still, and see the salvation of the LORD, which he will shew to you to day: for the Egyptians whom ye have seen to day, ye shall see them again no more for ever (Exodus 14:13). **

If we were in control of the universe we would surely make it so everyday would be sunshine and happiness with no pain, threats or danger.

We are not in control, but an all knowing, all powerful, everywhere present God is.

When Moses stood on the shores of the Red Sea, hopeless and helpless, he turned to God. When the Assyrians surrounded Jerusalem, King Hezekiah led a city wide prayer and repentance as they pled with God for salvation. Th result was turned into a song we call Psalm 46. “God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble…Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth. Th Lord of hosts is with us.” Facing fears and dangers? Fear not, stand still and see the salvation of the Lord.
